Bars

Franklin Hall DC

Franklin Hall is named after Benjamin Franklin—a famous beer lover. Located in the historic Manhattan Laundry Building, this ultra-trendy beer hall is designed by the restaurant developer Tin Shop. It features an industrial vibe, plenty of games such as Giant Uno and Jenga, huge TVs to watch sports games, and beer served in liter mugs. Other highlights include Monday night trivia and happy hour from 4 pm to 7 pm on weekdays.

Franklin Hall prides itself on its selection of 24 draft beers, draft and frozen cocktails, and a full bar. Pair your drink with delectable bar bites like crispy chicken BLT, ultimate nachos, or cinnamon sugar pretzel bites with salted caramel sauce.

Tiki TNT

Tiki TNT is a Polynesian-style Tiki bar at the Wharf. You’ll be spoiled for choice among twenty or so tropical cocktails from award-winning mixologist Todd Thrasher. Thrasher owns a rum distillery and you can expect to find his rum in everything from frozen strawberry daiquiris to the famous TNT Problem Forgetter cocktail.

Serenata

Serenata is an authentic Latino cocktail experience at La Cosecha market created by well-known drink connoisseurs, Daniella Senior and Juan Coronado. Their duo creates signature drinks from origin spirits and tropical fruits using world-renowned techniques. And here’s the fun part. Each menu item is inspired by the traditions of a different Latin American country. If you’re curious about your drink, ask the bartenders and they’ll be more than happy to share the story behind it.

Poker

Except for charity events, live poker is illegal in the District of Columbia. If you’re looking for a place to play, you’ll need to make the short drive up to Baltimore to one of the three casinos that offer live poker.

MGM National Harbor Casino

The popular MGM National Harbor Casino guarantees a high-quality poker experience with exclusive high-limit games like NL Texas Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, Limit Hold’em, 5 Card Omaha, and 5 Card Omaha Hi-Lo and daily tournaments. Visitors can enjoy 24/7 access to 37 poker tables. Amenities include WiFi, cocktail service, large TVs, ordering food from tables, and on-site massage.

Horseshoe Baltimore

The second largest casino in Maryland, Horseshoe Baltimore offers a wide range of popular poker variants at its 25 tables. No Limit Hold'em is the main poker game here, while other games to be found include Texas Hold'em, Mixed Games, and Omaha. The venue also has video lottery terminals and several food outlets.

Maryland Live Casino

Maryland Live Casino, the entertainment complex located near Arundel Mills Mall, has one of the biggest poker rooms in the country with 52 tables. Both newbies and skilled players are welcome to choose among a thrilling selection of popular poker games like Texas Hold'em, No Limit Hold'em, and Omaha. The venue is open 24/7 and provides plenty of amenities including on-site massage, casual and high-end eateries, as well as live entertainment.

Restaurants

Le Diplomate

With its shiny red booths, green subway tiles, and a zinc bar, Le Diplomate pays homage to French cafe culture. The extensive menu features French classics like onion soup gratinée, steak frites and escargots, bouillabaisse, and a slow-cooked meat and white-bean cassoulet. To wash it all down, there’s a carefully curated wine list and specialty cocktails. In warmer weather, you can enjoy outdoor dining while taking in the bustling energy of DC.

Le Diplomate is one of Washington’s buzziest restaurants—it’s a hotspot for the country’s political elite and famous for catering to VIPs—so be sure to make a reservation before you go.

Maydan

Michelin-starred Maydan combines the best of North African and Mediterranean flavors. The highlights include herb-and-honey halloumi, a mash of charred eggplant and tomatoes, and a whole chicken slathered in turmeric and coriander. Everything is served with the bread freshly baked on-site in clay ovens. The wine list offers labels from Israel, Lebanon, and Armenia.

Imperfecto

West End’s newcomer Imperfecto is a fine dining restaurant by Venezuelan-born chef Enrique Limardo, designed by Greek-Swedish firm OOAK Architects. Limardo reinvents traditional European and Middle Eastern dishes using Latin ingredients—think hummus made with shishitos, burrata paired with pink pineapple, and ravioli filled with ricotta and harissa.

Limardo strives to create a zero-waste kitchen. The meat is butchered in-house and all seafood is sustainable. What’s more, the chef dries and roasts the food scraps and blends them into ashes that are used to flavor the restaurant’s oils, salts, and sugars.

Games

The Eleanor

The Eleanor brings together a bowling lounge, bar and grill with skeeball, mini bowling, and old-school arcade games. This ultra-popular NoMa neighborhood entertainment hub also features multiplayer video games like a giant Pac-Man Battle Royal, pinball machines, a basketball game, Golden Tee machine, Big Buck HD video hunting game, and two Skee-Ball cabinets. Besides, they offer a solid selection of local beers, craft cocktails, wines, and a menu filled with dishes made from seasonal ingredients.

SPIN Washington D.C.

SPIN is a vibrant ping pong social club from the famous New York-based chain. Locals flock here to grab a drink, play at one of the 14 ping pong tables, and socialize. If you need a break, there’s a full service on-site cafe with burgers, shareables, snacks, and sweets.

Don’t miss special events like the competitive Friday night games, social league Mondays, Saturday party nights with live DJs, and Thursday pick-up-and-play with instruction from SPIN pros Allen Lin and Khaleel Asgarali.

Players Club Arcade

Players Club offers a classic old-school arcade experience. This ‘70s-themed basement arcade bar boasts an extensive selection of classic video games, pool tables, foosball, nostalgic arcade games, and pinball machines. Players will quench your thirst with eight draft beers, 20 varieties of bottles and cans, and a handful of cocktails. As the club’s customer, you are allowed to order food from the upstairs neighbor, Shake Shack, without leaving the bar.

The interior design of the venue is a must-see too. The wood-paneled “rumpus room” with vintage lounge furniture and retro wallpaper was designed by architect Michael Francis of SAINT Studio. And the best part is, Players’ rooftop space known as Skybox offers spectacular views of the city.
